Station 1
Station 1 is our original station and is located at the intersection of Joines Rd and the Flatwood Rd. Station 1 services much of the area in the Western and Central part of our district including roads such as Flatwoods, Denny, Burnt Schoolhouse, Rock Fence, Joines, Cut Laurel and Big Springs.
Apparatus:
- Engine 1101 – Station 1’s Main engine is a 2008 4X4 Freightliner. It has a 1250 gallon water tank and a 1250 GPM pump.. This engine is typically the primary response vehicle for structure and vehicle fires.
- Tanker 1104 – a 1992 International tanker that carries 1800 gallons of water to supply our engines
- Brush Truck 1 – a 1998 American General 6×6 2 1/2 ton with a 900 gallon water tank, wildland hand tools, saws and leaf blowers.
- Truck 1103 – A 4×4 Brush Truck/Minipumper. This minipumper carries 250 gallons with a 400GPM pump. It also carries some medical supplies. This unit responds to some medical calls, brush fire calls and search and rescue calls and any other call where we need to get a unit into a remote and rugged area.
- Truck 1107 – a 2007 F-250 4X4 service truck that carries rescue equipment, medical supplies, spare SCBA’s and generators.

Station 2
Station 2 is a newer substation, built at the intersection of Bryan Davis Rd and Roaring Fork Rd, to provide a faster response in the busy, southern end of our District. This section of our district encompasses our largest and most heavily trafficked road, Big Laurel. Big Laurel Rd connects the towns of Northeast Tennessee to Highway 88, and bears almost all of our commercial vehicle traffic. Station 2 provides mutual aid to Creston Fire Department and Second District Fire Department in Tennessee and services roads such as Big Laurel, Joines, E Big Springs, Roaring Fork, and Bryan Davis.
Apparatus:
- Engine 1106 – Station 2’s Main engine is a 2008 Kenworth with a 1000 gallon water tank and a 1250 GPM MidPump. This engine is typically the primary response vehicle for structure and vehicle fires.
- Truck 1102 – a 2015 Midwest 4X4 tanker/pumper. Carries 2250 gallons of water with 1250 GPM pump
- Ambulance 1105 – a 2008 4X4 Chevrolet Wheel Coach. Used as a rehab turck and Basic Life (BLS) transport.




Station 3
Station 3 is our newest substation, has three apparatus and is located at the intersection of Tucker Rd and Perry Hollow Rd. From this station we provide mutual aid service to the Lansing Fire Department and Mount Rogers Fire Department in Whitetop, VA. This station services the rugged and sometimes remote Northern end of Pond Mountain’s district, encompassing roads such as John Alley, Coy Ham, Whenlin Ridge, Farmer’s Store, Fairview Church, Rock Fence, and Rip Shin.
Apparatus:
- Engine 1108 – Station 3’s Main engine. A 2001 International series 4800 with 4WD. This engine is typically the primary response vehicle for structure and vehicle fires. Engine 1108 has a 750 gallon booster tank, and a 1500GPM pump.
- Tanker 1109 – Station 3’s Tanker. A 1987 GMC 2WD, this truck has a 1000 gallon tank and supplies water to Engine 1108
- Brush Truck 2 – a 2004 F-350 4X4 with a 300 gallon water tank and dual hose reels and carries wildland hand tools, a chain saw and leaf blowers. This truck doubles as a medical response vehicle for Station 3’s side of the district. It carries splints, backboards, oxygen, C-collars, an AED and other medical supplies.
